An Isaac Fredman and Jane Braham had Solomon Fredman, b in England ca 1833 as he d 6 Apr1881, aged 48, single, in Melb. S. He was a cigar maker and was accidentally suffocated with gas. Verdict at coroner's inquest held 6 Apr 1881 . He was buried 7 Apr 1881 at New Cemetery, Melb He had been in Victoria for about 15 years, since ca 1866. [death cert] Is this the same Isaac?

The Fredman family may have originally come from Sweden since the name is Scandinavian and Fredman's Epistles written in 1790 by Carl Michael Bellman featured a once wealthy Stockholm watchmaker called Fredman, in his last days as a ragged drunk.
