He went from school in England into the army. He was killed in a tank attack in the landing at Normandy in 1944, when he was about 24.
He was married but had no children. When his uncle Walter made a will on 8 Feb 1942, Richard was expected to marry Ruth Anderson of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshie, England. There was a bequest to Mrs Ruth Wolskel so they must have been married.
