Frank and his identical twin Harold were mischievous at school so they were sent to separate schools. After that they sometimes swapped uniforms and went to each other's schools. 158 162

He worked as a journalist, principally in the agricultural and horticultural areas. In 1921 he was Assistant Agricultural Editor of a weekly paper named "The Australasian" where he wrote a regular column called "The man on the land.158 Later he was a reporter for the Melbourne newspaper, The Argus. He wrote under a pen name, probably "Penang" 163 H e wrote about such things as propogating plants. He was laid off during the depression and worked as a free-lance reporter. Later worked with the Victorian Department of Agriculture. 164 When he retired he was a keen gardener and kept orchids in his greenhouse in the backyard at 24 Clarence Street, East Malvern, Melbourne.162 He also took an interest in horse racing. Keith McNaughton remembers that his grandfather kept records of racing results in his desk and Keith, as a boy, sometimes went with Frank up to the local dairy in Clarence Street to place bets with the local SP bookie.162

Frank had a mortgage from his father-in-law at the time of Abraham's death in 1934.165

He died from colon cancer. At the time his daughter Margery was in Bethlehem hospital with peritonitis in her appendix. She was too sick for her family to tell her that her father was dying 166
