According to her niece Ver McNab, Sarah went to a convent school then became a nun in the Convent of Notre Dame, Mount Pleasant, Liverpool. She taught at St Joseph's, Edgar Street.
184Founded in February 1869, Notre Dame Catholic College, at Mount Pleasant, in Liverpool, was originally The The Training College for Catholic School-Mistresses, run by the Sisters of Notre Dame. It was a pupil-teacher centre with links to local primary schools.
196So Sarah was probably a trainee teacher rather than a nun.
